Data of Performance

Alloy Composition of Plate Surface Pb-Sn-Ca Alloy with Aluminum
Effective Plate Area 2 Square Meters
Application for Copper EW
Service Life under Normal Conditions 4 ~ 5 Years

Actual data from customer factories:

1. It is made of multi-element lead alloy (containing rare earth elements)

2. The plate surface is flat, and the alloy composition is evenly distributed.

3. Hot rolling at first and then cold rolling

4. Embossing was added as a surface treatment process, which enhances the corrosion resistance of the anode plates while reducing the lead content in the cathode copper.

5. Holes are on the plate which makes that the electrolyte has good fluidity.

6. Various methods of welding copper beams and plates are used – acetylene oxygen and laser.

The Industry Standard for Copper Electrowinning: Proven Reliability, Rich Experience

In copper electrowinning, where uptime and purity are paramount, you need an anode you can trust. Not just a component, but a foundation of your process. Our standard Lead Alloy Anode Plate represents decades of refined metallurgical science and manufacturing expertise. It is the proven, reliable choice for operations that prioritize consistent performance, predictable outcomes, and long-term stability.

Time-Tested Manufacturing: The Hallmark of Quality

Our process isn’t just about manufacturing anodes; it’s about engineering a workhorse. Every step is calibrated to deliver the consistency that the copper industry relies on.

1. Precision Alloying:

We start with high-purity lead (Pb) and introduce precise amounts of alloying elements like calcium (Ca), tin (Sn), and strontium (Sr). Our proprietary formulations are optimized for copper electrolytes, promoting the formation of a highly conductive and protective lead dioxide (PbO₂) layer that ensures efficient operation and longevity.

2. Advanced Casting, Repeated Rolling and Precision Calibration for High-quality Lead Alloy Plate (Blade):

2.1 Advanced Casting for Superior Integrity:
We utilize controlled, permanent mold casting techniques. This method allows for a slower, more controlled cooling process compared to traditional methods, resulting in a dense, uniform grain structure throughout the anode. This eliminates internal defects, porosity, and ensures exceptional mechanical strength and resistance to warping.
2.2 Repeated Rolling and Precision Calibration:
After casting, each lead alloy blank plate undergoes a hot-rolling followed by a cold-rolling process. The 200mm thick hot blank plate is hot-rolled to 45mm, then aged for 48 hours, followed by cold rolling. This process is repeated 5 to 6 times until an 8.5mm thick rolled plate is obtained. Finally, the dimensions of the 8.5mm thick lead alloy plate are calibrated.
2.3 Patented Increased Surface Area Treatment:

Our patented surface area enhancement treatment can more than double the specific surface area of the anode plate. Under the same current intensity, the current density on the surface of this improved anode plate is only half that of the traditional anode plate. Therefore, it can significantly reduce the electrochemical corrosion and oxidation rate of the anode plate, improve its service life, and enhance the product quality of the cathode copper. For areas with frequent power outages and copper ores containing cobalt, to prevent the oxide film on the anode plate surface from peeling off and causing excessive lead content in the cathode copper, we perform a surface area enhancement treatment on the anode plate. This treatment improves the adhesion of lead dioxide, cobalt dioxide, or cobalt tetroxide to the anode plate, reduces corrosion of the lead alloy anode plate, and extends its service life.

3. Metallurgically Bonded Lead Cladding Copper Conductive Beam:

3.1 Cleaning and Preheating the Copper Rods

Remove grease and oxides from the copper rod, and then preheat the copper busbar to above 200°C.

3.2 Casting Process for Achieving Metallurgical Bonding

Hot lead casting of the copper rod achieves a metallurgical bond between the copper rod and the lead cladding, preventing the lead and copper from separating. This prevents bulging during use and ensures low lead-copper transition resistance, effectively guaranteeing the conductivity, mechanical strength, and hardness of the conductive beam.

3.3 A Firm Weld Between the Conductive Beam and The Lead Alloy Plate

We apply a trapezoidal bayonet seamless welding technique to bond the lead alloy plate and the conductive beam, achieving a complete metallurgical bond at the weld. Using patented technology, three 100×50×25 trapezoidal bayonets are fabricated on the alloy plate surface, and then three 100×50×25 trapezoidal clamps are fabricated on the conductive beam transition plate. After the lead alloy plate and the conductive beam transition plate are inlaid, automatic acetylene seamless welding is performed.

4. Rigorous Quality Assurance:

Every anode undergoes stringent inspection. We verify composition, dimensions, weight, and surface quality. This unwavering commitment to QC means every anode that leaves our facility will perform identically to the one before it, batch after batch.
